Scottish Opinion Ltd: Discrimination Survey (June 2002)
Commissioned by the Scottish Civic Forum, the poll aimed 'to illustrate the need for concerted work to promote equal opportunity in Scotland'.
It looked at discrimination involving a wide variety of issues. Sample size 1000. Most results were not disaggregated for specific forms of discrimination.
Main relevant findings:
- 2% of those responding said that they (or someone close to them) had been discriminated against in the past year because of skin colour.
- 2% had been discriminated against because of cultural views.
- 4% had been discriminated against because of religious views.
- 4% of respondents felt that they had discriminated against other people (for any reason).
